Lawrence C. Markiewicz returns to YEA!, once again taking the helm of his own hornline as brass caption supervisor for the Cadets2 Drum and Bugle Corps. He shares this role with Co-Caption Supervisor Gino Cipriani.
Throughout his 25-year career, Larry has remained active in music education. Many people know him for his work as an instructor or head band director with several championship groups, including North Penn High School (1996-2006), South Brunswick High School (2007-2008) and Bridgewater-Raritan High School (2000-2013).
"In the realm of drum corps, I have been blessed to have had a wonderful, two-decade career," Larry said. He has previously served as a brass caption supervisor, programmer or administrator with such great corps as The Cadets (1993-1997, 2003, 2007-2011) Carolina Crown and the Reading Buccaneers.
Since the mid-1990s, Larry has been sought after as a guest conductor, adjudicator and brass pedagogy specialist across the United States, Japan and England. In 1998, he was named the first honorary and only American member of the British Youth Band Association. He has recently been called upon to as a guest rehearsal conductor for many local youth orchestras and honor groups.

In recent years, Larry has built a second career as a freelance conductor in the tri-state area. He is presently the artistic director and conductor of the Somerset Valley Orchestra and the Raritan Valley Symphonic Band. In 2011, he was named music director of The Imperial Brass.
